The Greater Arkansas River Nature Association invites Coloradans to support efforts to deliver place-based environmental education, on the ground volunteer stewardship, sustainability, and heritage preservation in the Upper Arkansas Valley by donating to GARNA between now and Colorado Gives Day on December 7.

Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy through a multi-week period aimed at encouraging residents to “give where you live” by making online donations. Any donations given through the Colorado Gives Day event will be matched by Incentive Fund, so contributions to GARNA will be amplified during this period. Donations can be pre-scheduled now for December 7 through ColoradoGives.org/GARNA .

As a participating nonprofit on ColoradoGives.org, GARNA will benefit from this initiative in many ways.

“The donations we receive on Colorado Gives Day help us do more to support the Upper Arkansas Valley community and ensure we can continue making strides in important programs like youth education and waste diversion,” says Dominique Naccarato, Executive Director. “Our goal is to raise $10,000 this year, part of which will go to buy a new van needed to support our youth and resource management programs and our public lands volunteers. Donations through Colorado Gives Day are especially impactful since each dollar donated gets a boost through the Incentive Fund.”

GARNA encourages the community to make their year-end donation on or prior to December 7 by visiting coloradogives.org/GARNA. For questions or more information, please contact Chris Kassar at info@garna.org or 719-539-5106

Through community collaboration, GARNA inspires a conservation ethic by providing educational opportunities and experiences so that those who live, work, and play in the Upper Arkansas Valley are motivated to take care of the natural resources and leave a legacy of responsible use of the natural environment. GARNA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit environmental organization based in Salida, Colorado.
