Chaffee County employers in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors are feeling the pain of an historic nationwide workforce shortage, resulting in suppressed company growth and economic activity.

Driven by current insight from local employers, the Chaffee County EDC and its partners have created the new #FUTUREOFWORK Bootcamp. This program, consisting of quarterly half-day sessions throughout 2023, will share best practices for employers seeking to attract and retain workforce, build their own workforce pipeline, and strengthen the regional economy.

APRIL 6TH, 11-5pm @ The Scout Hut in Salida

Purpose:
Share best practices on two important current hiring trends: Job Quality and Skills Based Hiring; and enhance employer readiness for participation in Work-Based Learning (WBL) practices, including internships and apprenticeships.

Program Partners:
Chaffee County EDC, Colorado Mountain College, Salida School District, Buena Vista School District, the Colorado Workforce Development Council (CWDC), and the Colorado Department of Education (CDE).

  • Intro to WBL: Work Based Learning (incl. Internships/Apprenticeships)
  • Local Career Development Programs (CMC Salida, Salida Public Schools, BV School District)
  • More than Wages & Benefits: Job Quality as an Attraction and Retention Strategy
