Job Summary: The Membership Development Coordinator is responsible for the execution and oversight of an organization-wide Membership Sales and Retention plan. In this role the Membership Development Coordinator will initiate, cultivate, and maintain relationships to grow membership and retain commitment, to ensure positive member experiences and sustainable membership growth.
Salary: $33,000 – $41,000 Annually – contingent upon applicant qualifications

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Membership Recruitment
- Execute sales and engagement strategies developed by leadership to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
- Maintain a strong focus on exceptional customer service and organization.
- Actively seek new members by performing lead generation activities while accurately tracking prospects in our CRM system.
- Clearly articulate the value of the chamber beyond the tangible benefits of membership. Strong focus on our mission-related work and core values.
- Provide weekly pipeline reports to the President/CEO.
- Actively work to upgrade current and new members to higher levels of membership and/or sponsorships.
- Assist President/CEO with top tier member engagement meetings and recruitment when needed.
Membership Retention
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with all members. Serve as the primary point of contact for those members and work to engage each member company based on their business priorities.
- Secure annual membership commitments.
- Manage all monthly renewal correspondence (in conjunction with the President/CEO).
- Oversee execution of monthly mass mailings (printed and digital) to assigned members whose investments are due.
- Engage with other staff as needed with a focus on retention for members in their first 2 years.
- Work with the President/CEO to execute the member retention program aimed at ensuring the achievement of the goals mutually established with the President/CEO and the Board of Directors under the Chamber’s Strategic Plan.
- Identify at-risk members & assist in the implementation of the retention plan to reduce the loss of membership as directed by the President/CEO.
- Assist and manage the full staff member engagement strategy
Miscellaneous
- Maintain knowledge of goals, objectives and services provided by the Buena Vista Area Chamber of Commerce
- Assist with content development for Chamber publications and online communications strategies when needed.
- Assist when needed in event execution, advertising sales, and program development to ensure annual revenue goals are met.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the President/CEO in support of the overall mission of the Chamber.
- Serve as a positive representation of the chamber in the community.
- Coordinate and execute ribbon cuttings.
Experience & Skills Desired:
- Minimum requirement of a high school diploma, college degree preferred
- Previous sales experience required
- Ability to prospect and cold-call new businesses
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal
- High level of integrity and follow through
- Must have the ability to foster the values of member relations
- Experience with or ability to learn CRM database, Google Drive/Docs/Sheets, and MS Office
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision while coordinating multiple projects
- Attention to detail, hyper-organized, and able to multitask
- Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and presentation, with a desire to build relationships
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups of people and organizations
- Self-motivated and effective time management
- Must have and maintain a dependable vehicle
