Farmers Markets and Vendors in Buena Vista & Salida Colorado.
We manage the Farmers Markets in Buena Vista and Salida, Colorado and host ShedFest, a hyper-local, end-of-the-season celebration of the region’s talents and bounty.

What does your business do to help support the community?
Foodshed Alliance is proud to participate in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program, which provides equal access to quality, local food. Foodshed Alliance also participates in LiveWell Colorado’s Double Up Food Bucks Program(DUFB), which doubles the spending power of anyone using their EBT card. For those with an SNAP benefits, just stop by the market’s welcome booth to use your card.
Our Markets contribute to a healthy, sustainable, local economy, and offer a diverse array of economic opportunity for Chaffee County Citizens. Foodshed Alliance is invested in entrepreneurship and has a proven track record for being a productive host for local business. Several of our vendors have gone on to own brick and mortar establishments in our communities year-round. Our Markets have generated over
$3 Million in revenue for Chaffee County.
Foodshed Alliance not only partners with vendor business, we also have strong relationships with other local nonprofits. The market has become a hub that provides an opportunity for citizens to be able to learn and connect with available resources. In turn, the market has also become a place that local organizations seek to connect with citizens. To date, we have partnered with over 30 local organizations. Some these relationships are long standing and span over a decade.
Farmers Markets are greater than the sum of their parts. Foodshed Alliance Farmers Markets are community-building, community-defining, and community-sustaining institutions. Our Markets are a meeting place that promotes friendly community interactions weekly. Farmers Markets are a critical component in rebuilding a local food economy. Farmers Markets provide a cost-effective, retail sales venue for local producers of all kinds. Farmers Markets directly support agriculture and in turn, preserve productive open space in the form of farm/ranch land. Not only does this maintain a way of life but also a sense of place.
