We will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 18th. Other times are approximate. Viewers will be able to post written questions.
10:00…Introductions and welcome by Vic Kuklin MMR and BV Heritage President
10:10…Chris James, author of Silver Rails: the railroads of Leadville Colorado. Chris, a retired professor and former Leadville resident will tell us about the three railroads of Leadville. All of these railroads had tracks thru Buena Vista.
11:00…Dr. Martin Pirnat will present “another way to look at railroading through postal history with modeling opportunities”. Dr. Pirnat uses Colorado postcards to illustrate that history.
11:45…Lyn Berry will give us a visual tour of the Midland RR (then and now) from Buena Vista thru Elephant rock. The program focuses on the Midland Railroad facilities at Wild Horse, just north of Buena Vista.
Lynn has offered to lead a tour of the site of Wild Horse for anyone interested on Sunday, July 19th at 10:00 am. Lyn has access to private property normally closed to visitors.
We should finish about 12:30 pm on Saturday. That depends upon the number of submitted questions. The BV Heritage Museum along with the DL&G Depot Museum will be open for the weekend.
