July 16th – American Brass Quintet – Coming to Salida nearly every year since 1979, this will be their 37th Salida performance. They have been in residence at The Julliard School since 1987 and the Aspen Music Festival since 1970. ABQ is internationally recognized as one of the premier chamber music ensembles of our time, celebrated for peerless leadership in the brass world. After their performance here in 2019, one of the group commented on his many late night trips over Independence Pass returning to Aspen after playing in Salida. He said he so enjoys our audiences that there is no danger of falling asleep on the trip back, as he is still on a “performance high.” This popular brass group has been called by Newsweek “The high priests of brass.” The New York Times declared, “Positively breathtaking.” This concert will be held in Riverside Park and has no admission fee.
