Buena Vista School District
The Buena Vista School District is a highly recognized Colorado public school district for our attention to both the academic and personal success of our students. Our priority vision is “to ensure every student reaches the peak of success by being curious, creative, collaborative, critically competent, constructive, connected, and character-centered.” These “7 C’s” drive the daily experience of our students in developing high levels of competence, critical thinking, and the dispositions of an independent and interdependent learner. To achieve this, we create spaces of optimism where students can be actively engaged, connected to peers and trusted adults, empowered, and joyful! There is not a better staff anywhere working with students to accomplish our mission, and the staff is supported by an exceptional board of education, community, and families. We are thankful to our community who supported a tax increase allowing for a new elementary wing in 2014 and a brand, new middle and high completed in 2020! It is an absolutely spectacular facility bringing our beautiful, natural surrounding into its design and providing state of the art instructional spaces for our students to learn and for our community to gather. The school district serves as the heart of the community with many alumni returning to raise their own children in this beautiful community and enrolling them in a school district built on creating inspiring, proud experiences and equipping each student to pursue their individual post-secondary goals.
