We help our family take care of their own at home. We offer the services and assistance you need to manage your finances to build a strong financial future for your family.
As with all credit unions, Mountain River Credit Union is owned by its members. When an individual opens a share account, they have an ownership interest in the organization. We are a non-profit organization chartered by the State of Colorado.
Originally opened in 1960 as St. Joseph’s Credit Union, Mountain River Credit Union has expanded its field of membership and can now provide financial services to all residents of Chaffee County, Lake County, Alamosa County and Western Freemont County. We opened our Buena Vista branch in March of 2016. Credit Unions serve the community by providing members with checking and savings accounts, IRA’s, car loans and residential mortgages. Because they are non-profit organizations, they keep fees and costs to a minimum, and generally offer competitive rates on their savings accounts. As a member of the Shared Branch Co-Op, members of credit unions from all over the United States can conduct their financial transactions at one of our branches. Mountain River also has branches in Salida and Alamosa.
