Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity builds homes, communities and hope.

Looking for something HANDS-ON to do during your time in Buena Vista?  Habitat for Humanity can help.  Whether you want to volunteer for an hour or an entire summer, there is something for everyone to do.  A simple registration process leads to the lasting benefit of knowing you gave back and provided a deserving family with a hand-up in life.

WHY HABITAT for HUMANITY?  Families in the region deserve a chance to achieve their dream of homeownership and the stability, safety and security that come with it.  Together we can provide this opportunity.  Qualifying families demonstrate a need for a better home, the ability to pay their mortgage, and a willingness to partner with this self-help program.  They work alongside community volunteers to build their home and participate in education classes to learn about owning a home and managing finances.

ReStore – SHOP for:  treasures to take home, restore, or rebuild into a new dream for yourself. WHY? It’s fun and all your purchases help build Habitat for Humanity Homes.

Construction – There is no other experience like building a home – not because you have to, just because you can. Crew leaders are happy to find a task within your comfort zone and teach you new skills that you can take home.

Clerical – For those who prefer to sit at a computer, there is data entry and other clerical work.

Outreach – Help spread the word.

Internships to LEARN (open to all 16+ years old) – Internships available for the summer or throughout the year. “This is the kind of internship where you are actually an important part of an organization; I think it is a great learning experience. This has been such an amazing summer, and I am sad to leave.“ – Rachel
