We are a full service law firm of 14 attorneys and 5 support staff counseling clients from Buena Vista to Salida, Aspen to Glenwood Springs and throughout the Western Slope. Our Buena Vista office focuses on Real Estate, Wills and Trusts, Probate, and General Business matters, including civil litigation in these areas. Balcomb & Green brings over 65 years of successful client outcomes, and a fresh approach to doing business in the Arkansas River Valley.
What is your name?
What would you like the community to know about you?
While I will always zealously advocate for my clients, I view the role of a lawyer (especially in a close-knit community) as a resolver of disputes – there are rarely any real “winners” after a lengthy dispute or lawsuit. Katy and I have three boys, George (8), Peter (6) and John a.k.a. “Jackie” (19 months). Katy is the school nurse at Avery Parsons, and we feel very fortunate to be able to advance our careers and raise our children in Buena Vista, Colorado.
What does your business do to support the community?
We are continuously amazed by the community spirit in BV. We’ve become supporters of the Boys & Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity and sponsor the planter in front of the office (definitely adds some color to the facade of our little building). The Boys & Girls Club and Habitat are addressing two urgent needs in the local business community (childcare and workforce housing). As BV continues to grow, services that support the workforce will become more and more important – we intend to continue and increase our support for those endeavors.
What does your Chamber membership mean to your business?
It demonstrates our commitment to the business community. We’re all in this together, and as we adjust to growth, economic shifts, housing crunches and employment shortages, the Chamber is the place where we should be able to come together and address these challenges as a collective business community.
